Avocado.<\/p><p><span lang=\"ES-MX\">The country is a major producer of Hass Avocado,\u00a0<\/span>Today Colombia produces about 400,000 tonnes.<\/p><h4><span lang=\"ES-MX\"><b>Colombia as a producer of Hass Avocado<\/b><\/span><\/h4><p><span lang=\"ES-MX\">The country has as a goal that the hass avocado is a flagship product for the country:<\/span><\/p><ul><li>Ability to reap all the year, complementing in its different regions, and fill in for good measure international demand.<\/li><\/ul><p>\u00a0<\/p><ul><li>Have certificates such as GlobalGAP in a high percentage of their crops to cover plant health, immunity and treatment of waste.<\/li><\/ul><p>In 2013 it was determined that more than 1,500,000 hectares are suitable and available for the cultivation of Hass Avocado. This means that the potential is huge, especially if one takes into account that there are currently 800,000 hectares of crops of this species in the entire world.<\/p><p>In Colombia there are many varieties of avocado. Among these are:<\/p><ul><li>La criolla (or native)<\/li><li>Reed<\/li><li>Colin Network<\/li><li>Santana<\/li><li>Lorena<\/li><li>Choquete<\/li><\/ul><p>The above depends largely on the climate of the production area, but the unification of the crop will be achieved with the Hass.<\/p><p>According to recent data, every 100 avocados sold in the world, 90 are Hass and 10 are a variety of green skin.
